Pictures! Pictures! Pictures! Get 'em while they're hot and fresh!
Dundee: 1:04 p.m., PST
Well, the pictures are all online, but I neglected to mention the great email they came
with. For example, Dawn transcribed this message from Elizabeth:
I swim with my floaty and thanks to my floaty I swim. I hope you
have a good time. I love you. And I played with Aundine today and I liked it. Write a letter to me back please.
You can rest assured I will. In fact, I have created a new email address just for her, and will teach her Mom how to log in and read those mails.
If you, like me, are wondering what the travelers are doing right now, here was the plan:
Tomorrow we are going to Hot water Beach. We are going to try for an early start as low tide is at around 7:30 or 8:00. We opted for the morning low tide because sitting in hot water would feel better when it is cooler outside and there will be fewer people also. After that we are going to walk out to the end of the Pa (the maori word for headland) and look out at the view of the ocean. The views are rather spectacular around here so it should be good. I will take my camera so you can see it too.
In case you didn't know, Hot Water Beach is a place where volcanic hot springs ooze up under the beach sand. Visitors come at low tide with shovels. You dig a nice, big hole, and sit into the hot water and soak. Sort of like muddy hot tubs that feel twice as nice because of the fact your muscles ache from digging all that sand.
And finally, if you're near Hot Water Beach, be sure and check out (prepare yourself): Auntie Dawn's Place! Whoaaaa....
