Fettucine Alfredo

1 pound fresh fettucine
1 stick butter
1/2 cup cream
1/2cup grated fresh parmesan cheese
Black pepper

Cook pasta in boiling salted water until al dente. Drain but do not shock or oil; instead, quickly dry with paper towels. Toss with the butter, cream, pepper and half the cheese, until butter and cheese melts and all is blended. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top.
