1/2 cup all purpose flour
2/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup old fashioned oats
1/2 cup butter
Makes topping for 1 pie (8 servings). Use this instead of a top crust on fruit pies.
In a small bowl, combine flour, oatmeal, and sugar. Meanwhile, let butter come to room temperature, then add to bowl; crumble together with fingers or pastry blender. Sprinkle over the filling in any one crust pie. Unused topping can be stored, covered and refrigerated, for several months.
