Warm Breakfast Prune Cake

1 cup water
1 egg
1/2 cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup moist pack prunes, chopped
1 1/2 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon soda
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup chopped nuts

1. Boil water; break butter into small pieces and add to the water. Stir until melted off the heat.

2. Add the prunes, baking powder, sugar, egg and vanilla. Beat until smooth. Add the flour, baking soda and walnuts. Stir until blended and turn into a greased 9x9x2 baking pan.

Bake at 350° 30 to 35 minutes or just until the cake begins to pull from the sides of the pan. Cut into small squares and serve warm.
